2001 - An Imp Odyssey (2002)

The third Bugworm Multimedia tape, this re-release features National 2001, Wicked Welsh 2001, and the Sheen Imperator GTS feature.

This was the National with the Spacehoppers, the smoking monkey, the Davrian Imp and a lot of beer and was shot at the Hop Farm in Paddock Wood, Kent. The Welsh Weekend is the one with the first visit to the Big Pit and Timo's rendition of 'Delilah' which is a sight to behold, and the Imperator feature is a look around the car as it lay in the garage that had been its' home for several years, in disarray. It was later bought by Robin Human with a view to getting it back on the road.

There’s also an alternative take on the Southern Groove from the camera of Ed Newman, and some low quality footage from a Dutch Track Day.

The Impire Strikes Back (2000) - Imandix.jpg

The Impire Strikes Back (2000)

In 2000, Bugworm Multimedia released the first in a series of home made VHS covering a few events featuring Hillman Imps, all with terribly punning titles. The Imptalian Job and The Impire Strikes Back were the first two titles, and are accompanied on this re-release by ‘Jeff & The Imp’, and ‘Tim’s Stills’, a slideshow from the same event – Imp National 2000 at Blenheim – as the main feature.

HOIZ has set out to re-release the entire set of tapes on DVD, transferred from the best quality tapes still existent. In this case, that would be the master VHS.

Philmanns - Perfect Orb

Phil is half of Phil & Dog, who appeared on the 12" last year. Phil asked Steve to knock up a video for his Hexstatic/The Orb bootleg, and here's what he came up with.

Obviously this copy is limited in quality terms by YouTube's processing into FLV format & all that sort of thing, but the original version was done at DVD resolution using DVD sources. The footage is from the original Hexstatic video and Koyaanisquatsi, if you're interested.

This video was made for free; it's available online for free. There is no money involved!

SUPERCOLLIDER'S FREEBIE CD AT BASTARD 99

A somewhat obvious title, but whatever. Given away at Bastard 99 (June 1st 2006) at the Asylum, London W1, this 5 track 3" CD came in a limited run of 23 copies, each exactly as seen; Earth/Death Star image with track listing on the insert only, the CD has an on body print, not a label.

Tracks are the Basstastic Remix of Black Metal Tarantula (a version of the track on HOIZ002 that featured Octofish), Voodoo Bastard (also featuring Octofish), and Supercollider remixes of Classix Nouveaux' 'Is It A Dream', The Brakes 'All Night Disco Party' (renamed 'All Night Wife Swapping Party' for this release, and it's the 133bpm version, not the 140bpm which was too fast), and Sugababes' version of Arctic Monkey's 'Good On The Dancefloor'.

As ever, this CD was given away free gratis and for nothing. Anyone trying to charge you for it is taking the piss.

A LITTLE BOOK OF LIES 2nd Edition

by Richard Lockwood & Steve Potz-Rayner

To quote from Amazon.co.uk….

From the Author
STEVE SAYS: Rich and I first met in the mid Nineties in a pub called the King Edward VII in Stratford, E15. Recognising in each other the exulted art of Talking Utter Bollocks we started writing our own book - Rich set up a website that was little more than a drop point for ideas, to be tidied up in the editing.

When it was deemed ready (1800 ish lies or 50,000 words - we reckoned that was about 200 pages), I started hawking it round publishers, but it became clear that without an agent, no-one was interested, and agents 'weren't taking anyone on, love'.

The moment of revelation came in the humour department of Waterstones on Piccadilly in London; 90+% of the books in there were, frankly, shit. Books with one joke repeated ad nauseam, lousy full page single gag comics, all sorts of crap - and it got published! One can only assume the authors had an 'in' to the market. Suffice to say, the publishers didn't seem to be interested, so we found out how to do it ourselves instead, simply because our book is funnier than the vast majority of the potential landfill on the shelves out there. We took the attitude that if the publishers won't play with us, we'll play with ourselves instead. Hang on, can I rewrite that bit?

Originally published in 2006 and then reissued in a second edition in (apparently) late 2008 but really in early 2009, this book had been subject of many rejection letters from publishing houses and agents alike, which is a shame because it's really very funny. It does seem to be a bit Marmite; you'll love it or hate it.

If you find the version with the cow on the front, that's the second edition. Buy that one.
